Patricia "Pat" Dolan. Born in Wyandotte, Michigan 1/8/30, died 5/17/17, age 87. Preceded in death by siblings Dorothea Dolan of Wyandotte, MI, Theresa Bloom of Dearborn, MI., James Dolan of Ann Arbor, MI., and Sister James Ellen, IHM of Monroe, MI. Survived by 14 nieces and nephews and 14 grand nieces and nephews and 1 grand grand nephew. She died peacefully in her cottage home at Twin Towers in Independent Living with hospice and friends present. Pat graduated from St. Patrick High School in Wyandotte in 1948, spent 2 years as a Government Contractor in Tachikawa, Japan and returned to Cincinnati to attend college including the Grailville Earth/Land Project, UC, Xavier, and graduated from Thomas More College 1968 followed by an MSW in Social Work from Ohio State University in 1970. She volunteered, worked, and lived in the inner city of Cincinnati (Over the Rhine) for several years while also working for the State Welfare Department in Public Assistance, Foster Care, and Adoptions. In 1972 she joined the faculty of the Sociology Dept. at Northern Kentucky University and opened the 4-year BA in Social Work Program, retiring after 25 years in 1998. In retirement she continued to volunteer at Imago, Inc., an environmental/education organization in Price Hill, Grailville, Inc., an Earth/Land project in Loveland, Oh and Tri-State Dharma, Inc., an OKI Buddhist meditation/retreat org. which she helped found in 1988. Pat moved to Twin Towers in 2013 and volunteered in the Gift Shop and served as Secretary of the Resident council for over 2 years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10 AM at Twin Towers Senior Living Community, 5343 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45224. A Luncheon will immediately follow the service. Her ashes will be buried at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wyandotte, MI with private memorials at the Imago Labyrinth in Price Hill, Coastal Maine, and The Oakwood Retreat Center in Selma, Ind. with Tri-State Dharma.
