Patricia Gail (Prater) Dawson of Loveland passed away suddenly on December 17, 2019 at the age of 61. Patricia (Pattty) was a beloved wife of 26 years to Michael W. Dawson. Devoted mother of Sara Nicole Dawson (25) and Christopher Michael Dawson (23). Cherished daughter of Doris and the late Lonnie Prater. Dearest sister of Deborah LeRoy. Dear sister-in-law of Steven Dawson and Susan (Matthew) Wessel. Proud aunt of Stephanie Tocco, Matthew Dawson, Andrew Dawson, Adam Dawson and Johnathan Wessel.
Patricia was born in Madison Heights Michigan on February 11, 1958, with a caring, energetic, and fun-loving personality. She moved to Southwest, Ohio approximately thirty years ago while working as a Commercial Underwriter for the Great American Insurance Group. Soon after her marriage to Michael, she fulfilled her greatest love by becoming a mother to Sara and Chris. She donated many hours of PTA service and volunteer work as her children were educated by the Little Miami School System. She enjoyed watching sports, and was often heard cheering on her children as they played soccer, baseball, and football. She was an active member in both the schools and the community. She was a member of the River Crossing Church for more than ten years. With her love of working with the youth, Patty helped coach a youth soccer team, providing young children with the enjoyment and fundamental skills of soccer.
As a daughter of Christ, Patty belonged to the church's women's group, took discipleship classes, participated in bible studies and fundraising. She was an active member of Rivers Crossing Church for more than ten years. Despite her hectic schedule, family and friends were her passion. She was a delightful cook and enjoyed trying out new recipes. Patty relished hosting at her home, especially for the holidays. Her latest employment was with the Marsh & McLennan Insurance group where she was an Account Representative. Most recently, she has fancied redecorating her home, keeping a healthily lifestyle and become a fitness guru.
Patty and her husband, Mike had passionate dreams of retiring in the upcoming years to a most beloved destination, Marco Island, Florida. Whereas a family, they often spent Thanksgiving. The aroma of turkeys could be smelled cooking on the beach. They as a family had traveled to this spot several times in the past year.
Family and friends will be received Friday, December 20 from 5-8 PM and Saturday, December 21 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland, OH 45140, where funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM. Luncheon will follow funeral services at River Crossing Church.
