Norval Douglas "Doug" Wierman passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday, April 24, 2022 at 11:45 pm at this home in Blanchester, OH, at the age of 81 years with his loving wife, Roberta Wierman (West) by his side.
Doug was born on March 22, 1941 in Stanton, KY to Norval and Minnie Wierman (Thomas). He moved to Blanchester at the age of 4 years old where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was a graduate of Blanchester High School in 1959. He married Roberta Wierman (West) on January 20, 1962 in Stanton KY.
Doug and his brother Tom Wierman Sr. were hired together at Cincinnati Milling Machine (which became Milacron and later Cast Fab). They rode to work together for many years and spent nearly 47 years working for the same company.
Doug was a long-time member of the Blanchester First Church of God and also Daystar First Church of God. He was an experienced Bible scholar and served the Lord as an adult Sunday School teacher until he became ill. Doug served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees as well as other committees. His commitment was to God first and then to his family.
Doug enjoyed working in his workshop, playing golf, and sketching. He was also an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan. There was nothing that he loved more than spending time with family: family hangout days, and beach vacations.
Doug is survived by his wife, Roberta Wierman, his children, Kimberly and Steve Clark and Bronwyn and Rodney Wetenkamp; also, five grandchildren, Kiersteni Clark, Jacob Clark, Tensley and Austin Rankin, Audrey and Jon Forest, Patrick Wetenkamp and Jess Jansen. Doug has three great-grandchildren, James, Islay, Jasper and one more on the way. Doug is also survived by his brother Thomas Wierman Sr., and many nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Norval and Minnie Wierman, and sister Lois King (Wierman).
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on April 28, 2022, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio, where friends will be received from 11am until the time of service.
Interment will take place at Westboro Cemetery.
