On September 12, 2026, we said goodbye to a truly remarkable woman — Nancy Wiegand of Loveland, OH, who passed away peacefully at the age of 84, surrounded by her family and watching her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

Nancy was the cherished wife of 62 years to Glay Wiegand, devoted mother of Caren (Walter) Wiegand and Bethany (Keri Boller) Wiegand, and the late Cheryl Broadnax. She was a caring grandmother to Kyle, Josef, Nicholas, and Camden.

Nancy and Glay spent 62 years together, starting nearly every day with coffee and, throughout the day, being seen holding hands.

For more than 45 years, she dedicated herself to nursing, caring for others with compassion, strength, and an unwavering commitment to helping people. Nursing wasn't simply a career for her — it was a reflection of who she was. She spent decades making a difference in the lives of others, as a hands-on nurse, then a professor of nursing for many years, and then as an administrator in long-term care. There are countless people who are better because she crossed their paths.

But her greatest legacy was always her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a treasured Nanny. Her family was her heart, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in all of us. The stories, the lessons, the laughter, the traditions, and the countless little moments we shared with her are gifts we will carry forever.

Nanners was famous for her holidays, which were over the top in all the best ways. At Thanksgiving, she made sure everyone had their favorite dish at the table, and everyone knew she'd be the one to burn the marshmallows on the sweet potato casserole. Christmas was jam-packed with traditions: weakest link night, cookie day, trimming the tree, stockings, and the most thoughtful gifts. New Year's Eve meant sparkling grape juice with her grandsons, and Easter meant epic egg hunts all over the yard for her four boys. Birthdays were never just a single day; in her house, they were practically month-long celebrations, with something special always saved for the day itself.

Lovingly known as Nanners, she loved her Ohio State Buckeyes and could often be found telling the team exactly what she thought of their performance from her couch on Saturdays in the fall. Her favorite part of any home game was inevitably script Ohio from "The Best Damn Band in the Land," the Ohio State Marching Band. But she was just as devoted to playing piano and tending to her flowers.

Rest peacefully, Nanners. Your legacy lives on through all of us who were blessed enough to know you.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9 AM to 10 AM, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N Riverside Avenue, Loveland, OH 45140, where a service for Nancy will begin at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Montgomery, OH.
