Miriam Joan Frazer Hill, age 93, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Little Sisters of the Poor, Cincinnati, Ohio where she resided since 2005.
Miriam was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1924, daughter of William and Martha Harney Frazer. Her father died when Miriam was two months old. She is preceded in death by her brother William (d. 2007) who gave her six nieces and nephews she thought the world of.
Miriam married Vincent de Paul Hill (d. 1984) in 1948. They moved to Ohio from Philadelphia in 1951 to be a part of The Grail community, an international Catholic women's organization based at Grailville in Loveland. Two big city kids went on to raise their own vegetables, meat, and 11 children. Even after the children were gone she would plant 20 tomato plants.
The network of friends developed through The Grail supported her throughout her life. Miriam organized monthly "ladies' lunches". Collectively they had 54 children.
Her warmth and wit were a joy for all who knew her, especially for the residents and staff at Little Sisters of the Poor who buoyed her body, soul and mind and will miss her deeply. The family will be forever grateful for the loving care and safe home they provided.
