Obituary

Michael D Mider, 78, of Blanchester, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 4, 2025, at Georgetown, OH after a lengthy illness. Mike was born in Blue Ash, Ohio to William J. Mider and Wanda (Siegler) Mider.

Left to mourn his loss is his wife, Linda (White) Mider, daughters, Jamie (Alan) LeGros, Julie Valentine and son, Michael D Mider II. Brothers, Mitch (Sharon) Mider, Matthew (Kelly-Sue) Mider and Martin John (Tammy) Mider. Sisters, Melinda (Sean) McGill, Melissa (Eric) Dunkle and Michelle Amy (Howie) Coleman. Sister-in-laws, Sandra Christensen and Debra White. Stepchildren, David (April) Alzayer, Kimberly (Timothy) Zeinner and Kristopher Alzayer. Grandsons, Jordan Valentine and Austin Mider. Step-grandchildren, Shelby and Jake Alzayer, Luke, Caden and Evan Zeinner and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his brother Mark Mider, niece, Brandi Tell, sister-in-law Paula White and brother-in-law Colin Christensen.

Mike was drafted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served upon the DMZ in Korea. Mike worked for Ford Motor Company for 38 years, working at all three plants, Fairfax, Sharonville and Batavia.

Mike went to Little Miami Schools for 11 years where he won a perfect attendance award. Mike loved sports and ran track, breaking records while in Blanchester High School. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, cooking and traveling.

Mike was active in AA as a counselor, going into prisons talking to the inmates. He was a life member of the American Legion, Marion Post 179 serving as Commander for 8 years. Mike was a Clinton County Veterans Service Officers, for 7 years. He was on the Blanchester Zoning Board of Appeals for 8 years and was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Clermont County Chapter 649. Mike was very active in his church, Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, teaching Jr. Church, VBS, Awana, singing in the choir, on the cleaning and mowing team, singles ministries, Reformers Unanimous (RU) and greeter.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to the staff at Ohio Veterans Home, Georgetown, OH.

Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 10 AM on Saturday, July 12.

Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, OH
