Michael "Mike" Dean Tarter of Goshen, OH. Born on April 28, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH. Went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2016 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Geraldine B. (nee Moore) Tarter. Loving father of Michelle Tarter, Melissa Twine, Bridget Williams, Michael Tarter, Pauline Chandler, Cassandra (Tim) Brown and step-father of Bob Fischer, Kirk Fischer, Teresa Caudill, Tina Owens and Kimberly (Jimmy Godby) Davis. Proud grandfather of numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Bruce (Carol) Tarter. Cherished son of the late Arlie and Laurah Jane (nee Jasper) Tarter. Also survived by many dear friends. Mike proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later joined the United States Air Force where he served 19 years. Mike was a life member of the Batavia VFW Post #3539, a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, member of the SW Ohio VFW Memorial Team, a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of Bernard County, Melbourne, Florida and a life member of Rolling Thunder. Friends will be received from 6 PM - 8 PM, Monday, March 14, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will be on Tuesday, March 15, 11 AM. Interment with military honors at Goshen Cemetery.
