IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Chance
Casto
January 30, 1989 – December 6, 2025
Michael Chance Casto was born January 30, 1989, in Parkersburg, WV. He passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Loveland, Ohio, at his family home. He was the beloved son of Patricia Krimins and Michael Casto. He is survived by his wife, Regan Casto; his daughter, Ava Casto; his mother, Patricia Krimins; his grandmother, Edna Lower; his little brother, Sam Krimins; his aunt, Shari Popp; and his cousins: Chad Boso, Desiree Carey, Brittnay Flynn, and Kristen Casto.
He was also a loyal friend to many, someone whose kindness, humor, and easy smile made people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. He leaves behind countless friends whose lives were deeply touched by his presence.
Known as Chance, he embraced life wholeheartedly and on his own terms. Deeply loved and loving in return, his larger-than-life personality brought laughter and warmth to everyone he met. Above all, he believed that building relationships is what made life fun. His best relationship was with his daughter Ava, whom he loved more than anything else in the world.
He spent most of his youth in Virginia Beach, Loveland, Ohio, and Parkersburg, WV. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 2007. Parkersburg felt like home; he loved its small town feel and trusting community. After high school, he stayed nearby, attending West Virginia University for a year before deciding it wasn't the right path for him.
After WVU, Chance joined the United States Army at the age of 20 as a 13 Bravo Cannon Crew Member. He served 4 ½ years, including a 2009-2010 deployment to Iraq during OIF3, during which he became a combat veteran. He was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii during his service. After his service, he returned to Loveland, Ohio, and worked as a machinist for Hi-Tek Manufacturing.
His love for music was boundless. No one could describe that better than himself: "As far back as I can remember I always loved music. I remember my first favorite band, (Red Hot Chili Peppers-give it away). My parents knew I was hooked when I knew all the bands names on the radio at 3. I eventually started to play music. First song I ever learned was (Led Zeppelin's-Stairway to Heaven) & (BB Kings-Blues Melody). Then I started playing things like (Ozzy-Crazy Train), and (Ted Nugent-Stranglehold). Sure, it was a phase, and I will always love hair bands. Then I eventually moved into modern rock playing things like (Nirvana- Smells like Teen Spirit) & (Green Day-Nimrod). Some of my all-time favorites though are the slow ones to play like the (Beatles-Black Bird). I progressed as I got older and my genres seemed to change sporadically. Now that I have grown a little bit older and a little bit wiser. I spend my time listening to (Kenny Chesney-That's The Good Stuff), and (George Strait-Check Yes or No)."
We are deeply saddened by his passing yet remain profoundly grateful for the time we shared with him. Even in grief, we find comfort knowing he will continue to watch over us, smiling with his unmistakable, contagious laugh. To honor his legacy, our family kindly asks that, if you wish to honor his memory, you consider a contribution to a trust for his daughter, Ava.
As Chance would say, "Til Valhalla, my friend - Until we meet again."
