Merritt K. Geiger, 77, of Newtonsville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2016. Born on February 21, 1939 in Brimfield, Indiana, son of Gerald and Kathleen (nee Whitt) Geiger. Merritt was the beloved husband of Judy (nee Patchell) Geiger; loving father of Steve (Kimberley) Geiger, Jeff (Sandy) Geiger, Doug (Mechelle) Geiger; proud grandfather of Corey, Cara, Sarah, Mark, Amy, Anna, Jared, and Jordan; dear brother of Paul, Jim, Natheta, and Tom; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son Mark Geiger; sisters, Marian and Natalie; brothers, Philip and Leon. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 1668 State Route 28, Goshen, Ohio, where friends will be received from 11am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Plainview Cemetery, Wayne Township.
