Melissa Annette (nee Newberry) Stewart of Smiths Grove, KY, formerly of Milford, OH. Melissa went home to be with our Lord and Savior following a long and courageous battle with multiple illnesses, at the age of 55. She faced each challenge with strength, faith, and perseverance, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew and loved her.

Melissa is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years to Alex Joe Stewart II, loving child of Isabella “Arin” Stewart, sister of Melanie Newberry, cherished daughter of Marlon Arnold and Freda Ruth (nee Fee) Newberry.

Melissa graduated from Milford High School in 1989 and earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Northern Kentucky University. An avid reader and devoted book collector, she found great joy in literature and lifelong learning. Despite the many medical adversities she faced throughout her life, Melissa remained a devoted family member whose love, strength, and unwavering spirit inspired those around her. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones and created lasting memories that will be treasured forever.

Friends will be received from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, July 31 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 1 PM on Friday. The interment will take place at Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, OH.
