Melissa Rose Palmer, age 20, of Knob Noster, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Center Point Hospital in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was born October 1, 1994, in Okinawa, Japan, the daughter of Wade and Sandy (nee Deese) Mears. On March 1, 2014, she was united in marriage to Brandon Palmer in Cincinnati, Ohio. Melissa was very active in church and taught Children's Sunday school classes at Calvary Baptist church in Knob Noster, Missouri. She loved children, enjoyed babysitting and loved her dog Zoey that accompanied her everywhere she went. Melissa is survived by her husband Brandon; one brother, Daniel Mears II of Knob Noster, Missouri; four sisters, Katherine (Imilio) Gomez of New Orleans, Louisiana, Rebecca Mears of New Orleans, Louisiana, Sara Mears of Marrero, Louisiana, and Caroline Mears of Marrero, Louisiana; her father, Wade (Vicky) Mears of Marrero, Louisiana; step-father in law, Eric (Sandi) Armacost of Loveland, Ohio; and father-in-law Steven (Belinda) Palmer of Goshen, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandy Mears; and her two grandfathers, Harry Mears and Russell Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Knob Noster, Missouri with Pastor Jeff Merrick officiating and visitation services beginning at 3 PM. Family and friends will be received from 10-11 AM on Saturday, September 26 at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 129 N Riverside Ave, Loveland, OH 45140. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Symmes Township. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Calvary Baptist Foreign Missions Fund.
