Melanie Layman (nee Herbert), age 69 of Loveland, passed away August 20, 2026. Beloved wife of 44 years to Tony Layman. Loving mother of Andrew (Anna) Layman and Elizabeth Layman. Proud grandmother of Elliot. Daughter of the late James and Doris Herbert (nee Neumann). Dear sister of Marty (deceased) (Mindy Beard) Herbert, Dennis (Trish) Herbert, and Michael (Jodi) Herbert. Also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.

Melanie loved the Lord and found great joy in serving Him through music. She led the worship team for several years and directed multiple church choirs.

She enjoyed playing games, especially card games, as well as traveling and vacationing. Melanie worked as a school bus driver for Loveland City Schools, where she adored her bus kids - and they adored her in return. She also babysat for several years and treasured caring for little ones.

An enthusiastic sports fan, Melanie loved cheering for the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, FC Cincinnati, and UC Bearcats. Above all, she deeply loved her family and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 29 from 9-11 AM at Loveland Christian Church, 12070 Lebanon Rd., Loveland, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM. Interment Graceland Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Loveland Christian Church, in memory of Melanie.
