Obituary

Mary Neville

June 3, 1955 – July 28, 2023

Mary Neville passed on to her Heavenly Father on July 28, 2023. Mary was born in Dallas, Texas and has resided with her family in Symmes Township for the last 30 years.

Mary was a beloved wife, mother of four and grandmother of three. Her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed outings with her children and grandchildren, participating in their school and sports activities and going on vacations with the family. Having and creating fun experiences and trying new activities was very important to Mary. Mary, and her husband Joe, built a loving relationship that showed her family how to love and be loved, share their feelings and build lifelong relationships. In addition to being a loving mother to her own children, Mary also welcomed in their friends as her own, becoming like a "second mother" to many. Mary's friendship and kindness is remembered by all.

Mary dedicated her life to teaching - as a third-grade elementary school teacher, a pre-school teacher, and a home cook who shared her recipes with her daughter, daughters-in-law, and her grandchildren. One of her gifts included listening openly and sharing life's experiences with all those who cherished her. Mary taught in so many ways. Her passion was children's literacy, which led her to collecting many books for young people and then writing and publishing her very own children's book "Rex's Winning Day." She enjoyed school visits to read her book to children and engaging with families at neighborhood markets using the interactive activities she created to go along with the book. It brought her great joy to hear that her story was loved by so many.

Mary is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of forty-four years, Joe, by her four children: Joe (Sara) of Cincinnati, Shawn (Jackie) of Menlo Park, CA, Ryan of Cincinnati and Lindsey (and her fiancé, Nick) of Chicago, IL; her three grandchildren Jackson, McKenna and Lucas and her sister Jeanne of Paul's Valley, OK.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday. August 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM at The Community of the Good Shepard Catholic Parish, 8815 E. Kemper Road Cincinnati, OH 45249.
