Mary Judith “Judy” Lawson (nee Seibert), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. A devoted Catholic, Judy lived with unrelenting faith that remained a constant source of strength and comfort throughout her life. After more than 43 years of marriage, she shared a deep and loving partnership with her husband, Gene.
Judy never met a stranger. Her warm, fun-loving spirit and her gift of gab made everyone feel welcome. As the oldest of twelve siblings, she grew up in a big, lively family that shaped much of her life. She especially enjoyed going out to eat with Gene and trying a variety of foods. She loved monthly cousin dinners, large family gatherings, and long conversations with her many friends and family members. She proudly spent weekends traveling around the state, and summers traveling across the country to cheer on her grandchildren at their various sporting events. Her deep love for family brought her the greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Lawson, of Loveland, Ohio; her son, James Phelps and wife Elaine; her daughter, Julie Cooper and husband Howard; and her grandchildren, Austin Phelps, Michael Phelps, and Elizabeth Cooper and fiancé Ben Gedeon. She is also survived by Gene’s children: Kelly Lawson and wife Jackie, Daniel Lawson and wife Juli, and Michelle Livesay, along with seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by seven of her siblings: Jack, Jim, Sandy Sink, Danny, Gary, Kenny and Chris, and is survived by four of them: Tom, David, Rick, and Janna Dill and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews
