May 22, 1932 – June 23, 2024
Mary Jane was called home on June 23, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents Adolph and Josephine Koudelka, her sister Carol Baldwin and her loving husband Henk J. Schipper. She is survived by her brother Thomas (Carol) Koudelka, her adoring children Thomas (Joy) Tindera and Beth Ann (Brian) Johnson, stepchildren Helen (Tony) Fields, Robert (Susan) Schipper and Wim (Giselle) Schipper. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Dion Tindera, Michela Tindera, Alexander Johnson, Oliver Johnson and step-grandchildren Nicole (Nick) Bonner, Megan (John) Mitchell, Christopher Schipper, Matthew Schipper, Caitlin Schipper, Samantha Schipper, Brandon Schipper, Adam Fields, Sean Fields, Elly Steinbrunner and Drew Steinbrunner.
Mary Jane was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 22, 1932, into a very devout Catholic family. She grew up during the depression and knew the importance of saving a dollar. She was always an excellent student but didn't have the opportunity to fulfill her dream of attending college after high school. Mary Jane was a beautiful woman who, in her youth rivaled Elizabeth Taylor and had a charming, well-polished personality. She was first married in 1953 and divorced in 1962. She was left to raise two small children on her own (with the help of her parents) while working full time. She was successful wherever she worked and was eventually able to go to college and attain a Bachelor's degree. Her career began as a secretary at Glidden Corporation in Cleveland and she retired as a manager at General Electric in Cincinnati. It should be noted that through her work and school commitments, her children never lacked for her love or attention. She always taught them the value of hard work, honesty and education.
Mary Jane and Henk were married in 1979 and they enjoyed a happy marriage which was shared with their children and grandchildren for almost 46 years.
She and Henk belonged to and were active in the Church of the Saviour United Methodist church.
A celebration of her life will be on July 6th at the Church of the Saviour United Methodist at 8005 Pfeiffer Rd., Montgomery, Ohio 45242. A visitation will be at 10:00 AM. The service will start at 11:00 AM.
