Mary Elizabeth (nee Sams) Williams passed away April 14, 2016 at Continental Manor, Blanchester, OH. Mary was born September 22, 1922 in Morrow, OH to Otha and Ethel (nee Baker) Sams. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Toohey, son Gregory "Gus" (Linda) Thompson and step-daughter Patty Williams. She leaves four grandchildren, Eric (Julie) Thompson, Chase (Michelle) Thompson, Blair Thompson and Mandy (Jon) Edwards and eight great-grandchildren, Lexie Aytes, Cade and Michael Edwards, Celeste, Ella, Landon, Sawyer and Chole Thompson. She was preceded in death by twin sisters Doris (Leroy) Dowler and Dorothy (Paul) Cochran, brother, Oscar (Betty) Sams, son Michael Thompson and husbands Frank Thompson, Lionel Fitzgerald and Paul Williams. Mary served in the US Navy during WWII stationed in Pensacola, Fl. She owned and operated a restaurant in Blanchester and retired as a hair dresser. She was a member of Blanchester Grace United Methodist Church, Blanchester Senior Citizens, Blanchester Garden Club and American Legion Auxiliary. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM on Monday April 18, 2016 at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. Blanchester, OH 45107, where Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held at 11 AM. Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Blanchester Grace United Methodist Church or the Blanchester Senior Citizens.
