Martha "Sam" Glueck [nee Sansom] of Loveland, Ohio, died at the age of 76 on February 22, 2024. Her loving husband Gerald "Jerry" Glueck died in 2021 after 53 happy years of marriage. She is survived by two children (Michael Glueck and Julie Rash), three grandchildren (Jonathan Rash, Brooke and Brandon Glueck), two siblings (Leisla and Russ Sansom) and their spouses.

At age 4, her family migrated from Silver Grove Kentucky to a log house near Alexandria where they adopted the resourceful lifestyle of the farming community. This fostered the good housekeeping and the thoughtful practicality which were the hallmarks of her life. She graduated from Campbell County High then followed her sister Leisla in earning an R.N. degree from Jewish Hospital School of Nursing. It is hard to imagine a more compassionate and competent caregiver.

Sam loved card games, puzzles, greater Cincinnati, her family, and a very large circle of volleyball friends who played together for 50 years and enjoyed many wonderful trips together. She was a world class organizer and a tenacious negotiator who relished setting things straight with customer service everywhere. She was blessed with a gift for friendly conversation, a ready laugh, and an uncanny ability to know what cards you were holding. Sam was a lovable character and a cherished counselor to family and friends. We are all diminished by her unexpected departure.

Riverside Ave., Loveland on Fri 4/5 from 5-8 pm and a Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Rd., Cincinnati on Sat 4/6 at 10 am. A private inurnment will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
