Mark Andrew Manley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on October 3, 1939, Mark spent most of his life in Cincinnati. He graduated from St. Xavier High School (where he met his wife, Carol, at a football game) and Xavier University. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he and Carol returned to Cincinnati to build the life and family that was the center of his world.
Mark worked in the produce industry for many years. More than any career accomplishment, however, Mark treasured his family. He was a constant and steady presence—showing up for games, performances, and everyday moments large and small. Mark maintained friendships that stretched back to childhood and met monthly with his St. X classmates for decades. He loved tennis, golf, and lake days, but was happiest anywhere he was surrounded by family and friends.
A devoted Catholic, Mark enjoyed working as a bookkeeper at St. Margaret of York and St. Cecelia’s parishes. His faith shaped the way he lived: He quietly modeled a life of service, kindness, humility, gentleness, and love. He had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, whether they were lifelong friends or someone he had just met. The example he set will continue to guide his family for generations to come.
Mark is survived by his wife, Carol Manley (née Firth); his children Mark D. Manley (Annette Januzzi Wick), Brian Manley (Michelle), Barbara Morris (Tim), and Kevin Manley (Jennifer); his grandchildren Cheryl Manley (Chris Tiberio), Shannon Manley Cohen (Michael), Megan Burnside (Aaron), Kayden Manley (Casey Peters), Zoë Kuhn (Mark), Davis Wick (Kyra), Matthew Manley, Phoebe Morris, Alexis Teaster (Collin), Nathan Manley, and McKenna Manley; and his eight great-grandchildren.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Margaret of York Church, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or the Christ Hospital Foundation.
