Mark A. LaPille of Maineville, Ohio passed away on February 24, 2019 after a fifteen month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 61 years old. He devoted his life to teaching and coaching, spending four years at St. Ursula Academy and thirty-four years at Little Miami High School. Throughout his career, he used humor to teach his students and players not only math, art, and athletics, but also the many other skills they would need to succeed in life.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of Mary Alice (Redden) LaPille, loving father of Tom (Christopher Freed) LaPille, cherished son of the late Virginia (Wauligman) LaPille and the late Anthony LaPille, and treasured grandson of the late Philip and Mabel (Brewer) Wauligman and the late Lena Campanella. He is also survived by his aunt Shirley (Wauligman) Pille and cousins Lisa (Dan) Mullen, Linda Pille, Michael (Jennifer Roth) Pille, Shelley (Erik Karnebeek) Tobin, and Buck (Tracy) Smith.
A celebration of his life will take place on Sunday, March 17 at Bel-Wood Country Club, which is located at 5873 Ludlum Rd, Morrow, OH 45152. Doors will open at 1:30 PM, the program will begin at 2:00 PM, and there will be a reception after the program. Mark requested that those attending the celebration bring school supplies or backpacks to donate to the Little Miami school district.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Cincinnati in his name.
