Obituary

Marilee Rose, aged 93, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, in Lebanon, Ohio. Born in West Virginia, she later moved to Ohio with her husband and family where they spent the rest of their lives. However, she always loved West Virginia and was very proud of her family heritage and carried many lifelong traditions from her years there.

Marilee was an animal lover her entire life and rescued many dogs and countless cats and kittens.

She was loved by all that knew her. She was kind, giving, and had the best sense of humor. She loved to cook and made endless meals for her family and friends. It was amazing how fast she could prepare a huge dinner. She showed love through food, so she was usually in her kitchen cooking, canning, and baking. She tended a garden most of her life and her bushels and bushels of homegrown and canned half runner green beans were loved by all.

She was the beloved mother of Lora (David T.) Smith, Pamela S. Colliver, Richard J. Rose "Buster", Rex Allen (Kim) Rose, and John Wesley (Tracy) Rose; loving grandmother of Kelly Ann (Andy) Smith, Matt Keammerer, Josette Rose, Julie Ann (Jason) Smith-Truett, Jason N. (Kristin) Smith, and John Richard "JR" Rose, proud great-grandmother of Cody, Courtney, Cassie, Maddy, Wren, Dane & Aden, great-great-grandmother of Ava, Ivy, and David; dear sister of Arnold Moye.

Marilee was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Curly" J. Rose; parents, Issac Vaughn and Mamie Lee (nee Pettrey) Moye; beloved granddaughter Nicole LeClair, siblings, Sylvia Cox, Via Maddy, Willie Maddy, Joy Mann, Hallie Dilly, Pauline Bishop; Vernon Moye, Teddy Moye, Annabelle Burns, Jessie McVey, Susie Lilly, Dallas Moye, and Dorman Moye.

Marilee will be dearly missed.
