RAMIREZ Maria Arcelia (nee Arza)of Goshen Township, Ohio, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio and Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. Maria was born on January 24, 1910 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba to Rafael and Engracia (nee Martinez) Arza. She attended grade school at Escuela Anexa a la Normal and spent most of her early life in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. In Cuba, she helped raise her brothers and sisters. On June 1, 1935, she married Jose Ramirez in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. They had one child, Angelina de la Caridad, who later married Jorge Manuel Prince. Maria also had a stepson, the late Rolando Ramirez. She is the mother-in-law of Nora Ramirez. Maria and Jose were married 25 years before Jose died in 1960. Maria was the devoted grandmother of 7 grandchildren; Vivian, Sussette, Deneyse, Ileana, Jorge, Rolando and Eduardo. She was a loving great-grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren; Meghan, Brandon, Caitlyn, Aaron, Gabrielle, Dominick, Grace, Mitchell, Samuel, Ricky, Jorge, Erika, Tony, Alex, Rolando, Emma, Max and Lola and dear great-great grandmother of Sophia and Jacob. Maria had 11 brothers and sisters; Rafael, Manuel, Cerafin, Arsenio, Orlando, Gilberto, Angel Luis, Sara, Eva, Hena and Marqarita. She is also survived by many relatives and friends including; Ibis, Concepcion, Mireya, Carmelina, Manuel Arza, Margarita Zapata, Yolando Fiqueroa, Family Jimenez, Gladiz Oliva and Carmen Bombella. Maria was often called by the following nicknames by family and friends; Abuela, guita, Babalita, Chela, Dona, Maricusa and El Diablo. Maria was a housewife, mother, grandmother her entire life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crochet and knitting. Maria has lived with her daughter her entire life. She believed in devotion to her family, friends and foremost to God. Her favorite vaca Fr. Michael Cordier from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church will be the presiding priest for Maria's Mass of Christian Burial.
