IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margie Ray
Putteet
September 2, 1936 – August 30, 2024
Margie Ray Putteet, daughter of Charlie and Sue Helton, passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Margie is survived by her devoted children, Patti K. Sharp (Tracy), Jerry D. Putteet (Erica), and Tammi R. Snell (Scott); her grandchildren, Bethany N. Sarchet, J. Michael Putteet, Nathaniel H. Putteet, Sarah R. Putteet, Courtney S. Putteet (Nolan), and Kelsey L. Linton (Spencer). She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry N. Putteet; her grandsons, Darrell E. Ramsey Jr. and Nathaniel C. Ramsey. What a joyous reunion that must be in heaven.
She was the epitome of love, kindness, and selflessness, touching the lives of everyone she met. A mother who fiercely and relentlessly loved her children, she dedicated her life to nurturing those around her.
Born as one of 11 children in Kentucky, Margie grew up surrounded by the joy of family and music. She and her sisters spent their childhood playing and singing, even sharing their talents on a local radio program. Her deep faith in the Lord was evident throughout her life as she taught Sunday school whenever there was a need, sharing her love for the Lord with everyone she encountered.
Retirement was never in her nature; she found true fulfillment in staying busy and helping others. She returned to work at Kings High School, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of special needs children and brightened the cafeteria with her warmth and generosity. Her compassion knew no bounds—she was known to give the coat off her back to someone in need and never let anyone leave her home without a full stomach.
Animals held a special place in her heart, and she cared for them as tenderly as she did her own family. Her home was a haven of love, laughter, and nourishment for all who entered, and her legacy of kindness will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched. Margie was a devoted aunt, treating all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. Her unwavering love and support will be deeply missed, but the impact she made will remain with us forever.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew her.
The family will have a private graveside service for family to celebrate Margie's life on September 5th at 2 pm at Graceland Memorial Gardens in Goshen, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Hospice of Dayton, to continue her mission of helping those in need.
