Cherished grandmother of Trent Renner, Holli Renner, Ryan (Ryan Elizabeth) Renner, Lisa Renner, Brandon (Nina) Renner, Tyler Renner, Michael DiSebastian, Rachel DiSebastian, Brandon Morales, and Chris Morales. Proud great grandmother of 23 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Sam (the late Lois) Hensley, Logan (the late Mathilde) Hensley, Jonah (the late Louise) Hensley, Janet (Billy) Sawyers, James (Judy and the late Peggy) Hensley, Bonnie (the late Floyd) Hendrix, the late Elmer and Gertrude Hensley, the late Zelma (Alfred) Hurd, the late Mae and Matt Martin, the late Anice and James Greer, and the late Joe and Zella Hensley and many other loving family members and friends. Marggie passed away on May 18, 2021 at the age of 89.
Marggie went by several names throughout her life. Close family members always called her Maggie but she never cared for that name so she asked people to call her Marge and then in the 70's, she legally changed her name to Marggie and that's what she preferred to be called toward the end of her life.
She grew up on a farm in Kentucky with 11 brothers and sisters and she maintained a strong work ethic throughout her life. She graduated from Clay County High School in the class of 1949 and soon after moved to Cincinnati where she met RD, her husband to be, when she was 22. They dated for two years before eloping on August 6, 1955. She was a dedicated caregiver to her son John after he became incapacitated and she and RD faithfully cared for him for over two decades. In her late sixties, Marggie became a housekeeper at Grailville where she worked for nine years and then later at Walmart for two years. She took great pride in her work at both places and even in her eighties, Walmart would ask her to return.
Marggie was a very generous person and she always said it made her happier to give things away than to keep them. She was not only generous with her things, but also with her time. At the Loveland Church of God, she taught Sunday school for many years and was the treasurer for the church Ladies Auxillary in addition to cleaning the church on a regular basis. When she became a member of the Montgomery Assembly of God, she often volunteered at a homeless shelter, made blankets for the homeless, and she would greet the congregation as they entered the church before service on Sundays. She became famous for her pineapple cake and was always baking cakes for various church events, friend's birthdays and many other gatherings.
Two of her passions in life was decorating her house and dressing to perfection in her own unique style. She was a bling queen and she loved her accessories both for her wardrobe and for her home but the absolute greatest joy in her life was her family and friends. She loved going to Possum Trot, September Meeting, family reunions and playing dominoes with her friends from church. Her humor and her wit was unmatched and she was able to make a connection with every person she met and make them feel welcome, loved and special. She was full of life and known for her sparkle; she was one of a kind in the best possible way.
Marggie was a Godly woman and relied on her faith for comfort through the tough times especially after she became debilitated by a stroke. For over 10 years in a row, she read the bible in its entirety; a streak that ended only because of the stroke. She was a role model to so many people and will be missed terribly by all she left behind.
