Obituary

Margaret May Weierman (Lester), 74, of Milford, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, due to complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Margaret was born on March 3, 1950, in Rome, New York, the daughter of Thomas and Jennie (nee Ervick) Lester Jr. She graduated from Helix High School in 1968 and continued to enrich her education much later in life, earning an Associate of Arts in Administrative Professions in 2008 from the University of Cincinnati, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Margaret worked as an administrative professional for the City of San Diego Department of Welfare, Barrett Paving in Newtown, Ohio, Mohawk Machinery in Cincinnati, and J.W. Harris. However, Margaret truly enjoyed using her wit and charisma to meet and serve people as a cocktail waitress and restaurant server. In California, she worked at the Circle D Corral in El Cajon and the VFW Post Encanto. After relocating to Cincinnati, she served at local favorites including Uno's, Chi-Chi's, Frisch's, and Skyline Chili (one of her favorite meals).

Margaret married Mark Andrew Weierman of Amelia, Ohio, on October 31, 1985, when they eloped to Sedona, Arizona, from their home in San Diego. Mark played guitar at the VFW post where Margaret worked, and they soon hit it off. Margaret taught herself to play guitar using a Dolly Parton sheet music book and became adept at the fingerstyle method. The pair enjoyed playing classic country songs and Mark's original music—including his many love songs to Margaret—together as a favorite pastime for many years. In 1986, Mark led their combined family back to Cincinnati to raise their children in the Midwest. They added fishing, visiting aquariums, and historic travel to their shared love of music.

In Cincinnati, Margaret blossomed as an artist, taking up oil painting and creating still-life works and portraits. One portrait in particular, of Mother Teresa, was shared with the world through the Catholic Church as a fundraiser for pro-life organizations. She also enjoyed creating lampwork beads and glass forms in a kiln and collecting geological rock, fossil, and gemstone specimens.

Remaining to cherish Margaret's memory are her spouse, Mark A. Weierman, daughters Jacqueline (Lance Chesney) Norton and Mikaela Weierman, and son James Paul Weierman. Grandchildren Adria Weierman, Eva (Cody McAdow) Reed, Drew Addison, Isabelle Addison, Lily Rogers, Beau Stewart, and great-granddaughter Jaylen McAdow. Brothers Thomas Lester II and Gary Lester, sisters Nancy Gail (Barry) Beeman and Carol Jean (Chris) Davisson, and sister-in-law and close companion Linda S. DiFranscio (nee Weierman), as well as countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A private memorial will be held at a family home on Tuesday, January 28th. Interment is to be determined.
