IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Ann
Ackman
January 6, 1935 – September 13, 2025
Margaret Ann (Margie) Ackman, born on January 6, 1935 (daughter of William C. Kelly and Mary Jane Perry Kelly), in Falmouth, Kentucky, who entered this life on Three King's Day passed away on September 13, 2025.
Margie is survived by her four children, Stephen (Diana) Ackman, Susan (Edward) Yarcusko, David Ackman and Scott (Lori) Ackman as well as eight grandchildren (Jeremy Ackman, Amanda Hough, Megan Milligan, Amy Ackman, Sean Ackman, Jennifer Sullivan, Samantha Ackman, Nicholas Ackman) and five great grandchildren (Olivia Hough, Leona Ackman, Jackson Hough, Theodore Milligan and Harrison Milligan). She is also survived by nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends too numerous to roster.
She was preceded in death by Marion Ackman, her love of 60 years of marriage, and all her brothers and sisters, and some nieces and nephews.
Margie led a robust and giving life filled with family, friends, neighbors and community. After graduation from high school (New Richmond, 1953) she attended and graduated from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing (1956) in Cincinnati, marrying Marion the same year in September. She practiced nursing for two years before her first born where her life focus changed to that of mother. Over the ensuing years she developed relationships through a bowling league, regular bridge gatherings, pursuing an interest in oil painting. She exhibited personal productivity and creativity through gardening and canning, crocheting, quilting and her continual playing of that Baldwin piano given as a 10th wedding anniversary present. She exhibited leadership through a church lay pastoral commission presidency in the 1960s, service on the parish board of education in the 70s and 80s, and service in offices of the school PTA and service on parish worship commission. Her faith as a staunch Catholic never wavered and sustained her in the most difficult of times. After her own children were out of the house she returned to nursing as school nurse, mid 70s, in the same school her children attended.
She and her husband lived with an expectation of giving back to their community. Margie passed peacefully in her home of 58 years.
"Why then should we grieve that a new child is born among the immortals? A new member added to their happy society. We are spirits." B. Franklin, 22 February 1756.
