Madeline Napier (Smith). Beloved wife for 68 years to Victor Napier who preceded her in death. Others who preceded her in death were her parents, Minerva and Henry Smith; son, Victor Eugene (Gene) Napier; grandson, Michael A. Napier; sister, Hannah Clay; brothers, Brondon, Edgar and Woodrow Smith. She is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Kay L. Napier; grandson, Victor Lee Napier; great grandchildren, Victor Alexander (Alex), Adam Michael and Katherine Elizabeth Napier; a sister-in-law, Clara Napier and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was born in East Lynn, West Virginia. Before moving to Cincinnati, she attended Marshall University and taught school in Wayne County, West Virginia. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in teaching and taught in the Newtown Elementary School for over 30 years. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Loveland to be closer to family. She was a faithful member of the Loveland Nazarene Church and volunteer for the Drake Center Auxiliary. While living in the Lodge Retirement Center, she worked with the Craft Group and Helping Hands. She peacefully went to be with her Lord on August 27 at the age of 101.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 6 at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Drive, Loveland, Ohio 45140. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., the time of the service. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Symmes Twp.
