Lynne (Lindy) M. Blankenbuehler, age 73, of Park Hills, KY passed away Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Otterbein, Loveland, Ohio. She was born June 6, 1943 in Wooster, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Adrian W. Miller and Ruth M. Hyde Miller. She is survived by; brother Don H. (Barbara) Miller of Tiburon, California, sister Margaret Fadely of Wooster, Ohio, daughter Cherie B. (Darrin) Dolehanty of Richmond, Indiana, son Mark T. (Marlene) Blankenbuehler of Morehead, Kentucky and two grandsons, Cameron M. and Kyle S. Blankenbuehler of Morehead, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her cats, Waffles, Puck and Ariel. She earned a B.A. degree at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and M.A. degree at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She taught English for more than 40 years primarily at Clermont Northeastern High School, Batavia, Ohio and Covington Catholic High School, Park Hills, Kentucky. She also taught courses in GED preparation, tutored at The Lamplighter and taught courses at Chatfield College in Fayetteville, Ohio. She delighted in the success and growth of her students not just academically but as human beings. She supported her students in many ways including attending extracurricular events, leading clubs and organizations, coaching sports such as tennis and swimming and even mentoring students running a radio station. Her desire was that each student would realize their full potential whether it be in the swimming pool, with acceptance to the college of their choice or learning to read and appreciate literature or poetry. She enjoyed photography and transitioned from doing slides and developing her own photos to digital methods quite well. She loved to learn, whether it was about new places or people through extensive travel, taking pilot lessons, or becoming a Master Gardener. She delighted in her family both biological and adopted (the entire student body of Covington Catholic). She had a passion for life and did everything she could to help others succeed in whatever was their passion. So when given the chance to sit it out or dance, she hopes you dance. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at Covington Catholic High School, Park Hills, Kentucky on November 19th with a reception to celebrate her life immediately following. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, memorial contributions may be made to Kenton County Library or Covington Catholic Tennis or Swimming programs.
