Lloyd Caldwell born in Milford, Ohio to the late Orie and Opal (nee Hamm) Caldwell went to be with the Lord March 3, 2013 at the age of 82.
Lloyd was the devoted husband to Doris (nee Creel) Caldwell for 58 years. He was the loving father of Brian "Butch" (Diann) Caldwell, Donna (Mark) Bergen, Kathy (Herb) Spangler, Brenda (Dennis) Morris and the proud grandparent to 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother Marvin Caldwell. Lloyd served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, retired from General Electric, after 20 years as a welding specialist, as well as 20 years with Laurel Oaks Vocational School as a welding instructor. He farmed in Clinton County for most of his adult life.
A graduate of Blanchester High School, he was a natural-born story teller, never lost his love of learning or of teaching others. He was the first to volunteer whenever there was a need.
Lloyd was a long time member of the Martinsville Church of Christ, the Martinsville Lions Club, the Blanchester Senior Citizens and the Chaplain of the Blanchester American Legion.
Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on March 8, 2013 at the Martinsville Church of Christ, 28 W. Main St., Martinsville.
Funeral services celebrating Lloyd's life will be held at 11am on March 9, 2013 at the Martinsville Church of Christ with Minister Tim Wallace officiating, following a one hour visitation from 10-11am. Burial will be at Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery with military services by the Blanchester American Legion. Food and fellowship to follow at the Blanchester Senior Citizens, 707 N. Broadway, Blanchester.
