Obituary

Linda Hollon Craig died on January 26, 2026, at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, L. Clifford Craig, their daughter, M. Lucinda Craig, and son and daughter-in-law Christopher H. Craig and Maura Craig, and grandchildren, Sarah (Jordan Lieb), Charlotte and Jack Craig, as well as her brother, Dr. John Hollon (Jennifer), and sister Brenda Hollon Craig. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Thad and Margaret Hollon, and her brother Chad Hollon.

A strong believer in the value of education, she began her own schooling in the Blanchester school system, completed her secondary education at Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, Virginia, and her collegiate years at the University of North Carolina and Duke University where she received her B.A. degree. After her own children had progressed beyond elementary school, Linda joined the faculty at Cincinnati Country Day School where she taught for twenty-one years.

In addition to her love of education, Linda was a student and lover of nature. In earlier years, she and her husband particularly enjoyed summer canoe trips to the boundary waters of northern Minnesota and southern Canada, often in the company of good friends Marge and Jim Anderson. Closer to home, windows which wrapped around her Clermont County farmhouse kitchen and dining room provided panoramic views of deer, wild turkeys, pileated woodpeckers, roving coyotes and hawks spiraling skyward on the thermals ascending off the Stonelick Valley floor. She also loved the mountains and majestic skies which surrounded her home in Taos, New Mexico. In addition to the natural beauty of Taos, Linda was a great admirer of the mixture of Anglo, Pueblo and Spanish cultures that make Taos so unique.

Linda also enjoyed antiquing and the thrill of the hunt to find a bargain. Her homes are filled with china, furniture, art, American Indian pottery and a variety of trinkets that she collected along the way.

Fortunately for her family, Linda inherited her baking skills from her mother, Margaret. Her grandchildren fondly remember baking pies and other treats with her.

Plans to celebrate Linda's life have yet to be announced by the family.
