Obituary

Linda K. Ackels (née Robbins) of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 82. Linda was born on April 4, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Hettie Mae Robbins (née Stoops).

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Dale Ackels, and by her son, Jim Straight.

She is survived by her children: J.D. Straight of Wilmington, Ohio; Jonda Meddock of Wilmington, Ohio; Jerry Straight of Lynchburg, Ohio; and Joe Straight of Louisville, Kentucky.

Linda was the proud grandmother of Jonathan, Jeanette, Lacey, Tony, John Paul, Dalton, Jim Jr., Jason, Tiffany, Stephanie, Rachel, Raymond, Josh, Kellie, and Kayla; and step-grandmother of Bryan, Jon, Katie, Cassie, Dalesa, and the late Sarah. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of many wonderful, beloved great-grandchildren.

In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Linda dedicated 40 years of service to the National Youth Advocate Program, where she faithfully served in various administrative roles. She was also a longtime auxiliary member and past President of the Blanchester Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #2222.

The family requests memorial donations in memory of Linda K. Ackels be made to the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired, 2045 Gilbert Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45202.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. Blanchester, where a FOE Auxiliary #2222 service will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral services. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery.
