Beloved husband of over 63 years to Patricia Brock Sumpter. Devoted father of Joyce (Rodney) Croley, Kay Sumpter, Risa (Jimmy) Wallace, and Darrell (Valerie) Sumpter. Proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Lois Jarvis, Myrtle Moore, Cloeva Swafford, Wayne Sumpter and the late Pauline Green, Gladys Johnson, and Chester Sumpter. Les was also preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ethel Ayers Sumpter, and a grandson Chris Standring. Passed away Saturday June 25th at the age of 83. Les was associated with the Harlan Township Fire Dept. for over 30 years. Rev. Steve Tufts will be officiating the service for Lester. Casketbearers will be Kenny Hornsby, Kevin Standring, Edward Standring, Brian Wallace, Brandon Sumpter, Rodney Croley, Jimmy Wallace and Honorary Casketbearer, Chris Standring.
