IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence Leo
Lemay
December 6, 1950 – July 13, 2024
Lawrence "Larry" Leo LeMay, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on July 13, 2024, at The Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash. He was 73 years old.
Larry was born on December 6, 1950, in Lewiston, Maine, to Gladys and Albert LeMay. He dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving in the Army Infantry, with notable service in the Vietnam War, retiring as a proud member of the 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, New York.
During his military career stationed in Germany, Larry met and married Leden Denina LeMay. Together, they shared 38 years of marriage and raised three children: Lawrence Leo LeMay II (wife Nichole), Lorenz Leon LeMay (wife Manilyn), and Ledena Lee DeWitt (husband Christopher).
Larry is preceded in death by his sister Jacqueline LeMay. He is survived by his sisters Gaylene Folker (husband Donald) and Laurene Ahonen (husband Mark), his three children, his daughter from a previous marriage Barbara Arnold (husband Charles), and eight grandchildren: Cambria LeMay, Manenzo & Lorilyn LeMay, Hadley, Alana, Kinsley & Calena DeWitt, and Victoria Arnold.
After retiring from the military, Larry pursued his passion for woodworking, which led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Technology Education from SUNY Oswego. He went on to teach technology at Dunbar Middle School in Lynchburg, VA, until his retirement.
In addition to his love for carpentry, Larry enjoyed watching classic black-and-white films, reading Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler novels, and savoring a good lobster. He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and took pride in teaching his children and students the values of hard work and perseverance.
Larry will always be remembered as tough but with a loving heart.
