In Loving Memory of Laurie C. Kraus
Laurie C. Kraus was born on February 28, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio to James and Norma Christian. She was the faithful and loving wife of Robert W. Kraus and the beloved mother of Jeffrey D. Kraus. She was the cherished friend and sister to Linda C. Bagby (Michael D. Bagby) and the late Jeffrey D. Christian. She was also the much-loved Aunt of Hannah and Rachel Bagby, and a dear friend to many.
Laurie dedicated her life to helping others. She selflessly gave her time, energy and talents to those in her community by serving as an EMT and Paramedic for many years. She used her training, experience and qualifications to educate and teach other healthcare professionals in order for them to capably and kindly help others. She served in Mason, Westchester, South Lebanon and Maineville, Ohio as a paramedic while still working full-time in the healthcare field. She was diligent, hardworking and tirelessly gave of herself. She touched the lives of so many with her generosity of spirit and kindness of heart.
However, the most important thing in her life was always her family and she loved them deeply. She was a devoted wife and nurturing mother. Many of her most enjoyable moments were times spent with her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures in life, such as sharing a meal together, watching a great film with her son or helping him edit his latest book. She was so very proud of all that he's accomplished and thankful for the loving support of her husband. She was also a woman of many talents. She found creativity and joy in painting and needlework, and appreciated fine things.
Laurie had a love and strong tenacity for life and fought a long battle of declining health with unspeakable courage and immense strength. Sadly, that battle ended on Friday, August 28, 2015 when she died, quietly and peacefully. She will be greatly missed by all those she loved and left behind, but her memory will live on in so many of our hearts.
In Laurie's memory, donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati so that others can be lovingly cared for as she was.
"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; Many women do noble things; but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
