Larry Clay Poling, 67, of Goshen, Ohio passed away peacefully with his wife and children at his bedside on August 18, 2021.
Born on July 22, 1954, to Harold and Betty (nee: Weaver) Poling in Springdale, OH. Larry served in the Army for 10 years traveling the world; honorably discharged in October 1982. Larry continued to work in telecommunications in the private sector for the next 18 years before transitioning to healthcare delivery services for 21 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved history, movies, traveling, and being outdoors.
He was the beloved husband of Linda (nee: Watson) Poling, his childhood sweetheart, for 47 years; proud father of Trisha Cravens, Ryan (Angela) Poling, and Joshua (Kristina Shade) Poling; loving grandfather of Dylan Cravens, Regan Cravens, Josslyn Poling, Chase Poling, and Grant Poling; dear brother of Linda (Ken) Williamson, Susan (Greg) Sandford, Catherine Hovey; beloved son-in-law of Tom and Ina Watson, dear brother-in-law of Brenda (Dave) Kamphaus and Tim Watson; and uncle of Scott Williamson, Christy Scott, Joey Hovey, Jeff Hovey, Matthew Kamphaus, Jillian Marsini, Kristine Hull, and Kevin Kamphaus.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Poling; brother-in-law, George Hovey.
Friends and family will be received from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home.
Interment will take place at Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, Ohio, where military honors will be held by the Ohio Southwest VFW.
