Leonard "Larry" Gilman, age 62, passed away August 8, 2018. Beloved husband of Vicki (nee Burdick) Gilman. Loving father of Layla Gilman (Adam) Reed, Austin (Trisha Reents) Gilman. Adoring grandfather of Oscar Cyrus and Isla Marjorie Gilman. Larry was loving big brother to five adoring siblings, proud uncle to over twenty nieces and nephews, and doggy daddy to one Isabelle Gilman. Larry graduated from Anderson High School and UC. He was a general contractor, electrician, and finally found his home at Johnson Electric Company where he spent over 28 years in service. He retired as Branch Manager at Johnson Electric in March 2018. Larry was so excited at the prospect of his retirement where he would continue to have many adventures and good times with Vicki, family, and friends. Larry and Vicki could often be found snow skiing, boating, waterskiing, and having raucous good times with friends who dubbed him Admiral Throttle at Norris Lake. He was an adept woodworker, a budding guitarist, an IPA enthusiastic, and a gardener. You rarely saw Larry without a Harley Davidson t-shirt and he was excellent driver of virtually any vehicle be it motorcycle, boat, car, or truck. His dry humor, his big dimples, the sparkle in his blue eyes, and his warmth with be missed by all. Friends will be received Saturday, August 11 from 10 to 11 AM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland, where a memorial service will immediately following at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Emergency Program PO Box 214, Fayetteville Ohio 45118. Larry and Vicki are volunteers at Hope and get great joy in giving back to this community.
