Lafe Junior Dozier
August 10, 1942 – December 7, 2019
Lafe "Butch" Dozier, of Loveland Ohio, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the age of 78.
He was the loving son of Lafe Edward and Mary Rebecca (Burton) Dozier. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon (Phillips) Dozier, 5 children, Betty Dozier, Didi Back, Emily (Bob) Ayers, Denise (Eric) Bradley, LJ (Tawnya) Dozier II, and Chloe. Lafe was the proud Grandfather of 13; Amanda (Casey) Ward, Jason Back, Jenna (Matt) Back, Adam Davis, Danielle (Nick) Manning, Nicole (Chris) Smith, Alisha Davis, Kayla Dozier, Kyle Dozier, Chris Dozier, Danny Lott, Donny Lott, and Ben (Michelle) Bradley. Great Grandfather of 16; Andrea Mackenzie, Casey Ward Jr., Addalyn Davis, Opal Retherford, Camryn & Caden Matthews, Barrett Bradley, Christopher Dozier, Diamon Lott, Dan Lott Jr., Makaleigh Dozier, Joshua Dozier, Don Lott Jr. Heartper Lott, Ayden and Alex Dozier with one on the way. He is survived by his brothers, Cecil Dozier, Chuckie (Denna) Dozier, John Dozier and sister Mae (Harry) McNally and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he has joined his brothers Raymond Dozier and Bill Dozier in Heaven.
Lafe was a proud Goshen High School graduate and enlisted in the US Army in 1959 where he served for four years. He was employed with Kroger Egg, Formica, Cincinnati Milacron, contractor/home builder, and found his passion with Lawn Care.
Lafe was the son of a preacher man in Goshen. He attended Loveland Christian Church for over 42 years where he served as a Deacon, Elder, Chairman of the Mission Committee, maintenance and anything else that needed to be done. Lafe had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone at any time. Lafe always ended his prayers, "Let us not be an unbroken family on Judgement Day".
Lafe loved the Lord, his family, church family, fishing, boating, his cabins, and living life to the fullest. He had a passion for coaching his children and grandchildren in sports and eventually watching his great grandchildren play. Lafe said it best; "Every day is a holiday" and truly lived by it.
Family and friends will be received from 6:00 pm – 7: 00 pm on Friday, December 13, 2019 with a SW Ohio VFW Memorial Team service beginning at 7:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at Loveland Christian Church, 12070 N Lebanon Rd, Loveland, OH 45140 with food afterwards.
The family would like to thank the Cincinnati VA Medical Center and Mayfield Spine institute for all of the care Lafe received and the extended time we had to share with him.
