L. Meredith "Zip" Hammer of Blanchester. Beloved huaband of the late Nita Louise (Cramer) Hammer, dear father of Gregory (Donna) Hammer, David (Susan) Hammer, caring brother of Jack Ted Hammer, and of the late Donna Snyder and Wilbur Hammer, loving grandfather of Alexandra Blair Hammer, Meredith Louise Hammer, Annie Laura Hammer, and special friend of the late Mary Bell Bernard, and Gayle Slaff. Nov. 20, 2008 at age 89. Meredith proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 191 F. and AM of Blanchester, American Legion Post # 179, Blanchester, Scottish Rite of the Valley of Cincinnati, and the Elks Lodge of Wilmington BPOE 797.
