Kevin Taylor Howell of Goshen, OH, after 17 long months, he fought a good fight and on June 3, 2026, he peacefully passed away at the age of 60. Kevin was born on May 17, 1966, in Cincinnati, OH.
He is the beloved husband of 36 years to Kristie Angela (nee Fritz) Howell, loving father of Lauren (Ricky) Kairn, Becca (Tyler) Smith and David (Christina) Schlemmer, proud papaw of Christian Kairn, Lilly Kairn, Dylan Kairn, Shane "Dennis" Kairn, Scarlette Smith, Opie Smith, Stetson Smith, Titus Schlemmer, Kaylie Taylor and Gage Atkinson, cherished son of John Morris Howell and Linda Mary (nee Sirk) Howell, dear brother of Todd (Meshell) Howell, and caring uncle of Gabrielle Howell. Also survived by numerous relatives and many dear friends.
Kevin dedicated 25 years of his life to The Home Depot, where his strong work ethic and commitment were evident to all who knew him. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in camping, hiking, and traveling, often ending his days by the campfire with a bit of moonshine and good company. Kevin took great pride in his truck and was known for always keeping his hair just right. Above all, Kevin cherished time with his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he rarely missed an opportunity to support them. Whether attending sporting events, aerial shows, demolition derby’s, or simply sharing quiet moments and snuggles, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
Friends will be received from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, June 5 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 7 PM on Friday. Pastor Aarron Ellerman officiating.
