Kenny Knuckles was born on November 9, 1943, not in a hospital, but in the family home. He was the sixth child of Marshal and Vernia Mae Simpson Knuckles. Besides Kenny, the Knuckles siblings were comprised of two girls and four boys: Myrtle, Bill, Johnny, Junior, Leroy and Sherry. He grew up in Goshen, Ohio and graduated from Goshen High School in 1962.
He met and married Joyce Howe and had three daughters: Jackie, Kim and Missi. After his divorce from Joyce, he met Judy. They married and had one daughter, Jennifer.
Kenny retired from Ford Motor Company where he had worked for 32 years in 1997. He worked at both the Sharonville and Batavia plants and often said getting that job was like winning the lottery for him.
In his younger years, he played softball but also became an avid golfer which was a love/hate relationship that continued the rest of his life. He could also often be found fishing, especially at the lake at Grand Valley. Over the years, he enjoyed having a beer with friends or strangers who were soon to be friends at the old Wooden Nickel or By Golly's. His love of sports wasn't limited to those he played as he rarely missed a game featuring his favorite teams: the Reds, Bengals and the UC Bearcats.
As he got older, his family grew. His daughters were married, grandchildren were born – 7 grandchildren to be exact: Tyler, Samir, Candace, Karan, Kenneth, Ryley and Gemma. Another granddaughter was added to the family in 2017 when Samir married Janhavi. He also became a great-grandpa with the birth of Kennedy. He was so proud of each and every one of them that he would often regale his audience with stories and pictures of what those kids were up to now.
