Kenneth (Ken) Paul Schappell lived with a smile on his face and a joke on his mind. He had a kind word for everyone, and sage advice for all who asked. He loved coaching his team at work, drinking Busch Light, and working out. Most of all, he loved his family. He was a loving husband, friend, and travel partner to Karen (Deininger) and he was a source of unconditional love and support for his children Kristina Reitenour (Brian), Kevin (Molly), and Jessica Doyle (Brian). To his grandchildren Braden, Kennedy, and Ella Doyle, and Wesley Schappell, Ken was a playmate, cheerleader, and giver of big hugs. He taught us to treat everyone with kindness, never stop learning and never compromise our values for short-term gain. Ken was a believer in spending quality time and a planner of family vacations. He never missed a chance to tell those he loved how important they were to him. Ken was born September 21, 1959, in Fairless Hills, PA. He played baseball at Pennsbury High School, then continued to pitch in college. Ken graduated at the top of his class at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, and earned his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He spent 28 years at Procter & Gamble, where he was a Director of Finance and traveled the world. Ken passed peacefully at home on Saturday, June 24, 2017. He rejoins his mother Julia Dembitsky Schappell and father Elmer George Schappell. Ken Schappell will be dearly missed and never forgotten. He wanted a private family ceremony, but soon after he wished for a life celebration filled with good food, cheap beer, friends and happy memories. Details forthcoming.
