Kelly Thomas Burkhart, 77, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on April 7, 2021. Born on April 1, 1944 in St. Charles., Virginia, son of Kelly Burkhart, Jr. and Nora Belle Burkhart LaSeur. Kelly was a mechanic and ran his own shop for many years called, Tom's Truck and Auto. In his later years, he worked at Thorton Landscaping. Kelly was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple in Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed reading, traveling, Asian foreign films, and 50's music. Along with his parents, Kelly is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Judy Burkhart; daughters, Judith Carole Burkhart and Kelley Marie Burkart-Combs; sisters, Kathy Hymer-Banks and Thonda Reager. He is survived by his wife, Betty Burkhart; daughter, Kimberly Burkhart-Ertel; stepchildren, Rebecca Banks, Sherri Faulkner and Victor McConnell; grandchildren, Justin Helmecamp, Neil Ertel, Emily Combs, and Jackson Ertel; great-grandchildren, Mia Baudendistel and Liam Ertel; siblings, Eula Faye Lehman, Tab Burkhart, Roger Burkhart, Pearl Bryant, Sonia Burkhart, Kenneth LaSeur, and Rhonda Bryant; many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. A funeral will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio, where friends will be received from 12pm until the time of service. Interment will take place at Edwardsville Cemetery.
