Obituary

Kedie Carl "Casey" Ruehmer, 82, of Milford, Ohio, passed away on October 14, 2023. He was born on October 27, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. Casey was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He possessed a calm and friendly demeanor, always wearing a warm smile on his face. His character was marked by humility and appreciation, making him a cherished presence in the lives of all who had the honor of knowing him.

Casey graduated from East Proviso High School in Chicago Illinois where he met his future beloved wife Theodora. Casey and Theodora Ruehmer were married for 58 years before Thea's passing in 2020. There is peace and comfort knowing they are reunited under God in his kingdom of heaven.

Casey continued his education graduating from The University of Southern Mississippi and excelled in his career as an executive in retail store planning and construction. He lent his talents to renowned retail chains such as Sears & Roebuck, Target, Venture, Hit or Miss, and The Limited. Prior to his retirement, Casey successfully established his own retail planning business, guided by his entrepreneurial spirit.

In his personal life, Casey was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Knight, where he served with dedication and commitment. He found joy in hobbies such as genealogy, stamp collecting, and nurturing his love for cats.

Casey is survived by his beloved family, including his children Scott Ruehmer, Bryan and Kelly Ruehmer, Christopher Ruehmer and Kelly Kirtland, Alisa and Donald Reichert, Lynette and Brian Foreman, Andrew Ruehmer, and his grandchildren Adam and Makayla Ruehmer, Daniel Ruehmer, Jamie and Micheal Cooper, Rachel Ruehmer, James Egner, Kacie Leakway, Zachary and Carrie Reichert, Lauren Reichert, Avery Cooksey, Megan Foreman, Ashley Foreman, Alexander Foreman, Vera and Tristan Herndon, Leighton Ruehmer, Aiden Ruehmer, great-grandson, Jonathan Reichert and his sister, Peggy and Dale Lorenz, sister-in-law, Melissa Ruehmer and brother-in-law, Michael and Bronna Daniel. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Theodora and sons David and Matthew Ruehmer and his brother Terry Ruehmer. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.

The memorial services to honor Casey's life will be announced at a future date.

Casey will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
