Karen Munson, age 72 of Montgomery OH, was called home to Heaven on August 10th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Chicago, IL. to parents Robert and Lois Swanson, Karen met her husband and soulmate of 50 years, Ken Munson while attending the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Her life was marked by a fierce love of family and friends with an open door and a warm heart. Whether hosting rambunctious high school kids for weekly Young Life meetings or offering an open chair for any in need at the Thanksgiving table, Karen had a knack for seeking out those in need and making them feel like one of the family. A resident of the Cincinnati area for more than 30 years, Karen remained a loyal Chicago Cubs fan and an active member of the local tennis community where she could be found both behind the net and behind the desk with her loving tennis family at The Club at Harper's Point. Above all else, Karen was the most joyful with her feet firmly planted in the white sandy beaches of Siesta Key FL. answering to the calls of her favorite names, "Grandma or Nannie". Karen is survived by her husband Ken Munson, daughter Kristen Richards (Brian), son Kevin Munson (Kim), grandchildren Emily, Tyler and Izzie, brothers Robert Swanson (Wanetta), Richard Swanson (Vicki), sister-in-law Tunie Munson-Benson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lois Swanson, and brother-in-law, Peter Benson. A celebration of life will take place Friday, August 27th at Christ's Church, 5165 Western Row Rd, Mason OH. 45040. Visitation from 10:00am-11:00am with celebration of life to follow.
