Kerns, Karen (nee: Arentsen), age 73 of Loveland, OH passed away on Wednesday October 17, 2012. Born on May 30, 1939 to the late Mervin and Myra Arentsen she joins in death her parents. Karen is survived by her devoted husband Gerald Kerns; sons Scot (Lori) Anfinsen of Madeira, OH and Paul Anfinsen of Chicago, IL; Stepchildren Monica (Tom) Ruth of Silver Spring, MD, Diane (Nick) Conard of Tubingen, Germany, Emily (Peter) Petron of Fairfield, CT, Cynthia (Adam) Larson of Queens, NY, John (Rebecca) Kerns of Columbia, MO and Leslie Kerns of Los Angeles, CA; grandchild Jacob and step grandchildren Louis, Stella, Tillie, Elena, Sophia, Isabel, Benjamin, Abigail and adopted stepchildren Allegra and Audrey. She is also survived by a sister Miriam Gleim of Ottawa, IL. Karen's gracious, kindly nature will be deeply missed. She touched so many lives--her immediate family; her friends; all with whom she came in contact. She was a deacon at the Sycamore Presbyterian Church and active member of Northeast Welcomers.. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 25, 2012 at 11AM with a luncheon to follow at the Sycamore Presbyterian Church, 11800 Mason Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH.
