January 25, 1930 – December 22, 2025
Julianne Dorsch of Maineville, Ohio, beloved wife of the late Fred Wernke and the late Richard Dorsch, passed quietly Monday morning, December 22, 2025, while in hospice at the Heritage Hall nursing home in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. She was just short of her 96th birthday. Julianne was loving mother to Carol Paul of Fairborn, Ohio, Cathy Figlestahler (Bob) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and Jim Arrigon (Gwen) of Gibson, North Carolina. She was cherished step-mother to Rob (Barb) Wernke, Mary Katherine (Gregg) Swadener, Rusty (Jerri) Wernke, Randy (Monica) Wernke - all from Cincinnati, and the late Ronald Wernke of Washington state. She was grandmother to seven grandchildren: the late Ricky Paul, Macon, Georgia; Lamar Robinson, Centerville, Ohio; Brian Figelstahler and Jennifer Shuttleworth, both of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; Karen Figlestahler, Las Vegas, Nevada; Matt Arrigon, Laurinburg, North Carolina; Hallie Arrigon, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; also 14 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 19 step great grandchildren.
Julianne was preceded in death by her parents- Stanley and Helen Zawacki, two older brothers – Frank and Joe Zawacki, her younger sister, Janet (Jenny) Zawacki Johnson, and a sister, Anna Zawacki who died in infancy.
Family and friends will be received from 8:45 till 9:45 AM on Saturday, January 10 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 East Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Julianne was born January 25, 1930 in Clark County, Wisconsin, to Stanley and Helen Zawacki. She graduated from Thorp High School. Julie enjoyed a long career as an office secretary for Avon Products manufacturing facility in Cincinnati, then as a personal secretary for the owner of the Cincinnati Gardens sports arena, working well into her 80's. In addition, she volunteered regularly at Bethesda North Hospital until she could no longer physically perform the tasks, as well as Hospice of Cincinnati. Julie was well known as a leader and officer for both the Band Booster Club and Athletic Booster Club at Kings High School in Kings Mills, Ohio, where all her children were active in sports and band. She was an avid sports fan, rarely missing a Reds or Bengals game.
