Judi V. (nee Heck) Curtis of Goshen, OH, passed peacefully on August 7, 2026, at the age of 78. Judi was born on June 22, 1948, in Bell County, KY. 

She was the devoted and beloved wife of the late Larry James Curtis. The loving mother of Sunday Gadberry, Jamie (Julie) Heck and the late Dawn Buckner. A caring mother-in-law of Rob Buckner. 

Her pride and joy were her grandchildren; Annie (Joey) Hatfield, Kacie (Garrett Whitaker) Gadberry, Kristin Johnson, Kristen Heck, Tiffany (Dylan) Farris, Jacob (Rebecca) Heck, Ethan Heck, Ginna (Tyler) Pyles, Tori (Cody Fry) Buckner and Ashley (Rob) Plavsic. 

She adored and loved spending valuable time with her wonderful great-grandchildren; Charli Hatfield, Mason Hatfield, Alex Stuard, Alli Shay Stuard, Jayden Idler, Lilleigh Sexton, Joe Sexton, Tucker Farris, Teagan Farris, Maverick Heck, Leighton Heck, Robbie Rae Schott, Theo Pyles, Cadence Pickering, Beau Buckner and Legacy Collins. 

She was a proud sister of Jacque (Dusty) Rhoades, Charlie (Debbie) Heck and the late Ray Heck. She was the cherished daughter of the late Jesse James Jr. and Ruby Mae (nee Yoakum) Heck. Judi is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends. 

Judi graduated from Powell Valley High School in Speedwell, TN in 1966, where she was superb basketball player. She attended Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN. Her compassion for helping others was found in her love of nursing. After working for many years in the nursing industry, she then began a career at Downlite Bedding. In her free time, she spent watching and rooting for the Bengals, Reds, and women’s college basketball, especially the Tennessee Volunteers. She loved to cook and sit with the family. 

Friends will be received from 12 Noon to 2 PM on Friday, August 14 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 2 PM on Friday. Rev. Dusty Rhoades officiating. 

The interment will take place at Goshen Cemetery immediately following the services.
