Joyce J. Nickell (nee McQueen) of Morrow. Loving mother of Terry (Margie) Nickell, Dan Nickell and Bev (Ed) Hunt. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dear sister of Bud (Cathy) McQueen, Debbie McQueen and Deanna McQueen. Passed away December 16, 2024, at the age of 84.

Joyce stayed active her entire life. She was a proud stay-at-home mom until her last child started school. Helping others, especially children, was her passion. Joyce was a Cub Scout Den Mother and also volunteered to work with severely handicapped children in a center that was dedicated to providing brain stimulation and body movement for children. Eventually she was hired as a Volunteer Training Assistant. She also assisted with speech therapists and special education teachers with preschool children who were speech and language delayed. She later worked for the court system in Versailles where she spoke on behalf of abused and neglected children. Lastly, Joyce worked as a volunteer at Ft. Ancient helping 3rd and 4th grade children when they came on field trips then started working in the museum part-time. In her later years, she spent a great deal of time at the Blanchester Senior Center, where she will be greatly missed.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 12-2 PM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland, where a Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM.
