Joseph "Joe" Henry Thompson of Villa Hills, KY. Born on August 26, 1922 in Whitley City, KY. Went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2020 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of the late Glenna (nee Ball) Thompson. Loving father of Jerry (Karen) Thompson. Caring grandfather of Joshua Thompson and Christopher (Jennifer) Thompson. Proud great-grandfather of Ava Thompson, Noah and Nash Thompson. Preceded in death by his parents, William Walter and Mary Mae (nee Presnel) Thompson, 3 brothers and two sisters. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joe proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He worked for 25 years at Ford Motor Company in Fairfax and Batavia. Joe loved the outdoors, especially gardening. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, enjoyed boating and touring the country in his RV. Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 22, 12 Noon - 1 PM, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 1 PM. Interment with military honors, Graceland Memorial Gardens. Pastor Dr. William Duttry will be the minister for Joe's services.
