Joseph Lyle "J.L." Runk was born January 24, 1942 to Stanley and Lorena K. (nee Dodd) Runk and passed away March 3, 2017 at the age of 75. J.L. was a US Army Veteran and retired from Cincinnati Milacron. He was also the Associate Pastor at the Blanchester Church of Christ, Pastor at Moscow Church of Christ and recently, Pastor at Monterey Christian Church. He also served on Council with the Village of Blanchester, worked with the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home and was active with Blanchester Senior Citizens. He is survived by his sons, David Runk, Darren Runk and Joey Wallace; and a sister Ramona Spiedel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sherry L. (nee Newton) Runk; a son, Mikell Wallace; and sisters, Rosie McCune and Charlene Smith. Friends will be received on Wednesday March 8, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. Blanchester, OH, where services will be held on Thursday March 9, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment at Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Blanchester, OH. Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Monterey Christian Church, 2956 US Highway 50 Batavia, OH 45103 in J.L.'s memory. J.L. is truly loved and will be missed by all.
