Obituary

Joseph L. Doerr (88) of Loveland, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 after a short illness. Born April 2, 1927, to Joseph E. and Hilda (Sieber) Doerr, Joe grew up in Pleasant Ridge, Ohio and attended Nativity Grade School. Joe served as a Private in the US Army-Infantry, beginning at Camp Atterbury, IN and honorably discharged from Fort Knox, KY receiving the Victory Medal. Joe was always an ambitious worker from the time he was a teenager: he worked in a bakery, began his own dump truck business, worked at "Taylor Tot" and then worked over 20 years retiring as an Assembler at GM's Norwood Plant. Joe enjoyed helping to organize many Nativity school reunions, his old race car days and especially valued his time working with his Sieber cousins' Family Construction Business. Joe lived life to the fullest and always found time for family, friends, and hobbies including camping, boating, RV/travelling, VFWs, and local eateries (Ribs King and Remington Caf & Bar). Joe's quick wit, his infamous "Quack-Quack" sounds, and his ability to make everyone laugh a little will be missed by everyone. He enjoyed time with his Sieber cousins (Jake, John & Meg). His Nieces & Nephews always knew him as the best "Uncle Joe" ever. Joe is survived by his two brothers Louis (JoAnn) G. Doerr & Raymond A. Doerr, both of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas W. Doerr and his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Bambeck also from Cincinnati. Survivors include his sister-in-law Patricia Doerr-Mason, Madison, IN and Nieces and Nephews: Paula (Rick) Heidorn, Julie (Marty) Martter, Leslie (Mitch) Waters, Chris Doerr, Lynn Gatian, Kevin (Laura) Doerr, Kristine (David) Hoffman, Yvonne Bambeck, Marilyn (Steve) Olenik, Dianne (Rick) Rothmund, and Andrew (Barb) Bambeck III and 22 great and four great-great Nieces & Nephews. Visitation at 9 AM and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, Thursday June 11th, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Parish 8939 Montgomery Road Cincinnati, OH; Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
